Tea & Trumpets.: because sometimes you want to curl up with a cup of tea, and other times you need a bit of fanfare.
I live and write in Boston, where I spend a lot of time walking around the city, hanging out in coffee shops, and buying too many books. As a kid, I would stay up late reading with a flashlight under the covers, and I hated few things as much as the presidential fitness week. These days I still stay up way past my bedtime, but I’m learning with surprise how much joy can be found in running.
In this space I’m chronicling my efforts to to let go of negative baggage and find the space where feminism, self-care, and wellness meet.
Mary Oliver is my guide in all things:
“As for the body, it is solid and strong and curious
and full of detail; it wants to polish itself; it
wants to love another body; it is the only vessel in
the world that can hold, in a a mix of power and
sweetness: words, song, gesture, passion, ideas,
ingenuity, devotion, merriment, vanity, and virtue.”
